Engage with Problem-Based Learning

At Maastricht University (UM), we care not only what you learn but also how you learn. Here, you are part of an interactive and meaningful learning experience called Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Most of your education takes place in groups of 10 to 15 students, so you’re not just a face in a crowded lecture hall.

A day in the life at Maastricht University

UM SPORTS is the sporting heart of Maastricht University and the ultimate sports destination for everyone.

Enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports, top-notch facilities, extended hours, and a welcoming atmosphere.

University Inner City Library

Starting from 11:00, you can explore the building at your own pace with the help of a handy flyer. A library student will be available until 15.00 in the entrance hall. This way, you’ll get a good impression of the collections, the various study spaces, and the special facilities such as the DIY video studio and the DIY podcast studio.

University Library Randwyck

From 9:00 onwards, staff members and library students will be ready to receive you. You can explore the library independently or join one of the guided tours. In addition, you can discover innovative tools such as VR headsets, the Podcast Kit and the Video Kit, and visit a small exhibition on site.

Maastricht University in Venlo

Did you know that we also have a vibrant campus in Venlo? The degree programmes offered here focus on health, sustainable food and business.

There are two main locations: Campus Venlo, right in the city centre, and Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, just outside of it. In these inspiring environments, students and researchers work together on innovations for a more sustainable world.

Find out more about our programmes in Venlo.
